What if I can't retrieve a magazine's ISSN?

An ISSN is used to channel the distribution of magazines. Like the ISBN in books, it is a unique identification number. Magazines that are not (or not widely) available on newsstands tend not to have an ISSN. If you submit a magazine we don't yet know of, we will always verify the magazine's existence. It helps if an ISSN is available. If you are submitting a magazine without an ISSN, make sure to provide full disclosure of the title/subtitle/publisher, etc.
