Do I need to register my work to get copyright?
To obtain copyright, a work does not need to be registered. Nor is it necessary to use the well known © symbol. The act of creating a work automatically creates copyright protection. As support for proof that a creator created a work at a particular time, it can be registered with the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property.
Note that this registration is completely separate from the question of whether a particular work is copyrighted. It is only useful as possible evidence in legal proceedings.
