How do I obtain copyright?

In the Netherlands, the creation of copyright is not subject to any formality. You don't have to apply, file or register anything, and it costs nothing. You automatically acquire copyright if you create something in the field of literature, science or art. However, it is required that the work has its own original character and bears the creator's personal stamp. The creator must have made creative choices in creating the work. It is also required that the work be cast in a sensory perceptible form. Thus, an idea that is not elaborated upon is not protected by copyright.
