Pictoright transitions to a Supervisory Board model
As of June 1st, Pictoright has transitioned to a Supervisory Board (Raad van Toezicht) model. Karlijn Vogel will fulfill the role of managing director starting on that date.
Earlier this year, both the Dutch Copyright Supervisory Board (College van Toezicht Auteursrechten or CvTA) and the meeting of affiliates and rightholders approved the necessary amendment to the articles of association.
With this adjustment, Pictoright aligns its governance structure with most collective management organizations in the Netherlands. The influence of the visual sector through representation within Pictoright remains guaranteed.Under the new structure, daily management and strategic direction are in the hands of the managing director.
The Supervisory Board monitors policy and the general state of affairs, while supporting the managing director as a strategic sounding board. The transition to the new governance model has no operational consequences for Pictoright’s rightholders; the continuity of our services remains fully guaranteed.
Karlijn Vogel was already appointed as director earlier this year, succeeding Vincent van den Eijnde. Vincent was at the cradle of Pictoright and shaped the organization from 2008 into what it is today. We will take the time to thank him for this at a later date.
