Diederik van Leeuwen new chairman Pictoright

On Monday, March 20, Diederik van Leeuwen was appointed president of Pictoright. He succeeds Bart Drenth, who resigned the chairmanship after becoming director of art and antiques fair TEFAF.

Diederik van Leeuwen has extensive administrative experience inside and outside the cultural sector. He currently serves as program and interim director at the National Organization for Development, Digitization and Innovation. He is no stranger to the collective management of copyrights: he previously served as independent chairman of Stichting Leenrecht.

Pictoright is delighted with Van Leeuwen as chairman, especially given his interest in innovation, something that will only become more relevant in the coming period with the developments in the fields of AI, image recognition software and platform liability.

At the affiliates’ meeting on June 1, we will bid farewell to Bart Drenth, who has played an important role within Pictoright over the past four years as chairman.
